When Viola Hastings' soccer team is cut at her high school, she devises a plan to prove her athletic worth. Her twin brother Sebastian has decided to ditch the first two weeks at his new high school to tour London with his band, so without his knowledge, Viola disguises herself as him and takes his place. She dons a wig, wraps herself in tenser bandages and attempts to talk, walk and act like a boy. Her only goal is to make the soccer team and beat the snot out of the boys' team of her school - including her now ex-boyfriend!
